The change of fortunes of this former mine have been beautifully managed, bringing out some of the best features of the old stonework and arches and juxtaposing beamed ceilings and high-end bathroom and bedroom fittings, creating spaces with a piquant grace and weighty dignity.
Several bedrooms are in the vaulted basement area , so guests can sleep in a semicircular space, beneath a honey-coloured stone dome.A total of seven bedrooms and eight high-end bathrooms await you and your group in a marrvellous rural setting, along with three separate sitting rooms, one for each floor, and vast kitchen.
The rooms are spread out over four floors, each with a living room and external staircase, allowing a high degree of independence for up to thirteen or fourteen guests.There is plenty of outdoor space, too – over 400 sq ft of terracing - and the large pool is right out front on an esplenade where there is also an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area.Centrally heated in the winter months.
Naturally, there is alsio a fireplace, although these days wood is favoured over coal.
The old mine bosses never had it so good.The mine is on the edge of the village of Bianamar and right on the edge of the foothills of the Tramuntana mojntain range.
Footpaths and bike tracks lead directly from behind the village though ancient woodland up into the mountains.
The village is largely unspoilt and hosts of the strangest and most compelling festivals on the island in September – a frenzy if devils and fireworks in the semi-ruined and roofless old church.Biniamar is quickly accessible from Palma and the nearby larger town of Lloseta also has a train connection.
