In 1998, we transformed a typical Garfagnana farmer's house into four comfortable flats, maintaining the style typical of the Garfagnana.
The house where the farmer and his family lived has been converted into Capanne1 and Capanne2.
The stable for the cows and bulls in Capanne3 and the barn, detached from the house, has been transformed into Capanne4.
The structure, completely made of stone, is located at an altitude of about 600 metres and offers a splendid view of the wooded mountains of the Apuan Alps.
It is a small paradise from which to visit the famous Grotta del Vento (Wind Cave), hike the most beautiful peaks of the Apuan Alps or simply relax by the pool in summer or in front of the fireplace in winter.
Gallicano, the first town of reference, is 10 km away, Castelnuovo Garfagnana is 15 km, Lucca is 45 km, while Florence and the Versilia (Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi) can be reached in an hour and a half by car.
Definitely not to be missed is the famous "Grotta del Vento" (Wind Cave): located in the centre of the Apuan Alps Natural Park, it is among the most complete caves in Europe, presenting an extraordinary variety of phenomena that are illustrated with precision and competence by expert speleological guides.
Each flat is well furnished, with a private terrace and completely independent entrance.
The terraces are equipped with rustic wooden tables and are perfect places to enjoy meals while gazing at the magnificent panorama.
The flats have their own gas heating system and typical wood-burning fireplaces.
During the winter, gas consumption must be paid for along with any firewood used.
The flats are very comfortable and furnished with abundant use of wood, providing an atmosphere of refined taste.
The renovation was carried out with great care, respecting the typical architectural style of this area with wooden beams on the ceilings, white rustic-style walls and terracotta floors.
In some cases, the interior wooden ceilings are original as well as some stonework.
There are two baby cots available upon reservation and also a washing machine for guest use.
The flats have satellite TV.

The entrance to this flat is at the front of the farmhouse where there is a terrace with a rustic wooden table for dining al fresco and armchairs and deckchairs for sunbathing.
There are two doors to enter inside where there is a large living room.
On the left is the kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, oven and gas cooker.
In the centre is the dining area with a fireplace set between the two entrance doors and finally on the right is the living room with a comfortable sofa bed.
A wooden staircase leads from the living room to a loft where there is a double bedroom with a small bathroom with shower.
To the left of the kitchen, down a step, is the second double bedroom with a large bathroom with shower.
This flat is very comfortable, spacious and cosy also thanks to the perfect use of wooden materials.
